Madalina Cojocari, 11, was "last seen on surveillance video getting off her school bus outside her home in Cornelius, North Carolina, on November 21, 2022, and has not been seen since. She was reported missing to her school on December 15, 2022. Her parents reported last seeing her on November 23, 2022. Madalina was last seen wearing jeans, pink, purple and white Adidas shoes, and a white t-shirt and jacket," according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Cornelius has a population of 31.412, according to the 2020 U.S. Census and is geographically located northeast of Charlotte as part of Mecklenberg County.

Madalina has brown hair and brown eyes, is 4'10" and weighs 90 pounds.

In 2013 North Carolina adopted Session Law 2013-52 ( S.L. 2013-52) or Caylee's Law, inspired by Caylee Anthony, the daughter murdered by her own mother, Casey Anthony, who was acquitted by a Florida jury in 2008...? The law makes the "failure to report the disappearance of a child to law enforcement" a felony criminal act if not done so after 24 hours of the child's missing status.
Since Madalina is "a person less than 16 years old" and was missing for three weeks before she was reported missing, her parents, Diana Cojocari, 36, and Christopher Palmiter, 60, were arrested and charged with felony failure to report the disappearance of a child and were remanded into custody with bails set at $250,000 and 250,000 respectively.
Madalina's first language is Romanian, but she speaks English fluently as well.
