A former doctoral student at Plymouth University, Dr. Tim Coles, was culture-cancelled and lost access to his school email account after an anonymous complaint was made to the university about articles which Dr. Coles wrote for the Australia-based New Dawn Magazine.

An anonymous person made a complaint to the university which generically referred to Coles as a "conspiracy theorist," with no specific criticism made about him.

Coles was interviewed by Helen of Destroy, aka Helen Buyniski, on January 17th, 2023. Read Helen of Destroy's Substack here.

"I never got an email from Jane Grant. It was all done behind my back. She basically said, you know, Coles is a conspiracy theorist. She actually wrote nothing specific, just general outlandish conspiracy theories. So I haven't even been accused of anything specific," Dr. Coles said.

"I don't know what the motivation was other than people with a little bit of power think that they're God and think that they can just toy with you, but you know, treating somebody that way it's only going to blow up in your face. It's not very clever," Dr. Coles said.

"She wrote in her email, let's see if we can get him off our books, so to speak.' that was the phrase she used. So she wrote to the doctoral college and I.T. and they tried to identify my position," Coles said. "They didn't even know that I had a contract to do this postdoctoral research. They just assumed I was using my old account to pretend I was some kind of researcher or something, so they hadn't even  looked into it."

"Then I was actually threatened by the head of the business school because as I said Dr. Moforth was in a separate school in the business school. The sponsor of my account. The head of the school there is a Katie Angliss and she wrote to me saying I understand you've been contacting staff to try and get your email account reinstated. Don't do this." And then she actually wrote in bold and underlined. So I took that as a threat and I then went to the doctoral college, who ignored me and then said after I pushed them, 'We can't help you. It's not our business,'" Coles said.

"They were copied into those emails and the head of the college who I think is called Christina Rivers, she was part of the mechanism that got my account locked and then she was pretending that they'd didn't have anything to do with it. Basically they told me to 'fuck off,' so I went to the Vice Chancellor Judith Pitts and she assigned an investigator who just seemed like some random person. Somebody who is like a cancer researcher. They obviously don't have a process for dealing with this sort of thing but he sidelined all my complaints about being threatened and what basically amounted to bullying because of my political views," Dr. Coles stated.

"He did agree that I should not have had my account terminated in the way that it did and he should it be unlocked for one month and after that I'm out. So this is obviously not acceptable and I shall be taking this to a higher authority," Dr. Coles said.

Coles stated that he is another victim of political censorship.

"What happened to me is just another example of political censorship based on things that you say that people don't like," Dr. Coles added.
